FOUNDING MEMBER
Only 15 Founding Member spots. Ever.
Founding Members aren’t just investors — they’re the people shaping Tala from day one. Priority access on every deal, a permanent seat at every Retreat, and the influence that comes from building something early and intentionally.
NAVIGATOR
This is where the work happens.
Navigators are active investors who deploy capital, participate in diligence, and help founders scale across borders. If you’re serious about angel investing and want to do it alongside globally minded peers, this is your role.
EXPLORER
Everyone starts somewhere.
Maybe you’re new to angel investing. Maybe you’re not ready to fully commit yet. Learn alongside experienced angels, see real deals, ask questions, and invest when you’re ready — with structure, support, and global perspective.

Do I need to be an accredited investor?
Yes. All Tala members must be accredited investors to participate in SPVs. We verify this during the application process. See the SEC’s official definition here.
What if I can’t invest in every SPV?
No problem. There’s no obligation to invest in any particular deal. You choose what makes sense for your portfolio.
How do I apply?
Select your tier and click Request an Invite. We’ll schedule a brief conversation to make sure Tala is a good fit for you—and that you’re a good fit for Tala.
What does “limited to 15” really mean?
We mean it. We’re accepting 15 Founding Members total—not per year, not per cohort. Ever. When those spots fill, the tier closes permanently.
Can I upgrade from Explorer to Navigator?
Yes. Many members start as Explorers and upgrade when they’re ready to participate more actively. Upgrades happen at your annual renewal.
Can I upgrade to Founding Member?
Only while spots remain. Once the 15 Founding Member spots are filled, that tier is permanently closed—even to existing Navigators.
What’s the time commitment?
As much or as little as you want. Some members invest quietly. Others lead diligence, mentor founders, or help source deals. The network rewards engagement, but we don’t mandate it.
What’s an SPV?
A Special Purpose Vehicle—a simple legal structure that lets a group of investors back a single company together. You invest once, in one company. No fund commitments.
